the hill behind my house is on fire. flames and smoke building and settling, crackling and pluming. it’s mystifying, hypnotic.
i stand and stare, watching the red glow, so red, against the blackness of the sky, the whiteness of the stars. the darkness.
[my heart is open for you to walk straight in. there’s no lock, there’s no password. there’s no mote to cross or dragon to slay. it’s open, it’s free. but it won’t be this way forever.]
come and start a fire in my heart.
